New Uggs

I’m undecided on the look of the new ugg shoes but they are the comfiest things on earth, I like the new boots though

Oeuf winter collection

YES!!!! I’m a little too excited for some of these oeuf pieces, especially the new ears sweater. I think the above knits will HAVE to join us. The rest of the collection is similar to past seasons with new little details. OK, trying to breathe after seeing the ear sweater, it’s very Edie and being ordered right now :)

Oeuf Toy Store-alternatives?

I’m oh so,’Ikead’ out, but what’s a good alternative for a toy storage unit? I adore the simplicity of the Oeuf Toy Store design, but I’m not as into the $480 price tag! (Am I crazy, or is that astronomical?). However, the neat and tidy (See OCD) side of me, loves lives for compartments and organization.

The write-up:

The Toy Store is an innovative storage system design to make organization as easy as 1, 2, 3.  With the option for the bins to be positioned flat or tilted, kids will be happy to pitch in and clean up as they will be able to reach all the bins with ease.  The bin dividers are removable so you can store a multitude of items of varying sizes – from the smallest Lego to oversized puzzles and everything in between.

Does anyone have any better ideas, or an Ikea piece in use that I can be inspired from? Photos would be wonderful.

Also, we only have vintage pieces in Edie’s room, so I need something a little more white and modern

Cheers!

Ohhh, a friend just turned me on to this wonderful discount online shop. They just had Egg Baby on serious sale, so Edie will be wearing her 2T clothes soon (Yes, 2T). Keep looking for their upcoming sales.

Baby Shower pictures

Here are some pictures of the baby shower I hosted last week. It was so much easier organizing this hot off the heels of E’s birthday. I pretty much just switched out everything yellow for blue, and kept the food very simple. It was so hot that the salad and champagne were the only things being consumed.

My pom pom’s leave a lot to be desired still. I would use 8 sheets of paper, instead of the recommended 5, in the future.

Ugly yet delicious cupcakes. It was so warm I had to re-chill the frosting. Little flags went a long way (super easy and self explanatory to make).

Love the tassels on these hats

I did not count them! It was rigged, they all went to Lina. Not sure if anyone thought it was as funny as me?

Can’t say the word ‘baby’ pin game. My husband thought it was bad form to do ugly baby pins, but I threw a few in to the mix anyway.

The other honoree, Big sister Lina (2 1/2 years old)

Cardboard playhouse

Here’s another great 1st birthday gift idea- the cardboard playhouse. Made in Portland, Oregon, these playhouses are surprisingly durable. I’m a big fan of open ended activities, so being able to paint this yourself into much more than a playhouse, is very appealing. Edie’s had hers for a month or so now, and we finally got around to painting it. It’s still quite an ordeal to paint with her, but she loves it so much it hard to deprive her of such messy fun (this does not bode well with my OCD tendencies). I did buy a yard of Ikeas new polka dot oil cloth ($7.99) which helped in the cleanup department.

Or Portlanders can pick theirs up at Plue or Polliwog

11 weeks!

The gigs up! I have been MIA because I’ve been vomiting for the past 2 months- I”M PREGNANT!  So the sickness is still hanging on, and I can’t bare to think about sitting behind this computer to blog. I also keep blogs for Edie and the new baby, which (sorry) take priority.

I’ll be back, slowly but surely, as I get that 2nd trimester miracle energy. I have some great pics and sales to share…check back.

Cheers!
